Application for permit to work with asbestos
All enterprises that will carry out demolition, repair or maintenance work on building elements containing asbestos, must apply for a permit for such work from the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority.
The application form is only in Norwegian.
All enterprises that will carry out demolition, repair or maintenance work on building elements containing asbestos.
Your application must include information on
- your enterprise’s experience in working with asbestos
- what kind of work you seek a permit for
- what work you will be doing
- how the work will be organised
- training of employees
- medical checks of employees
In addition, you must include instructions for the work and any statements from a safety delegate or employee representative, working environment committee and occupational health service at the enterprise.

As well as applying for a permit to work with asbestos, you must also send a notification to the Labour Inspection Authority before each asbestos assignment (only in Norwegian, arbeidstilsynet.no).
